V.R. Halter and Associates

V. R. (Pete) Halter has been active in residential development since 1974. Between this time and 1988 he served as managing partner for Secured Communities, a condominium development and sales company, and Registry Homes, a single family residential building company. During this period, the firm not only developed a portfolio of its own properties, served as a “workout” venture partner with national lenders taking over completely troubled condominium properties throughout the Southeast. Lender relationships included Bank of America, Royal Bank of Canada, First National Bank of Minneapolis, Chase Manhattan, Security Pacific National Bank, and others. The firm developed and/or completed over 2000 condominium units during this period.

In 1984 V.R. Halter and his partners purchased Buckhead Brokers Realty, a 650-agent residential brokerage company in Atlanta, GA. When Mr. Halter sold his interest, the firm was achieving annual sales in excess of One Billion Dollars.

Over the past 25 years, V.R. Halter & Associates has served as a national real estate advisor firm to such companies as Disney Development, Freeport McMaran, Markborough, Mobile Land, Duke Energy (Crescent Resources), Virginia Power, Jack Nicklaus Development, Howard Hughes Corporation, Terrabrook, Republic Bank, Woodlands Development Company and others. Today, Mr. Halter is Chairman, Principal and Partner in The Halter Companies. The firm and its subsidiaries have exclusive relationships as a venture partner with Cornerstone Development (The Sterling Companies), in Destin FL, and Trammell Crow Residential to develop townhome and condominium properties throughout the Southeast. In this role, Halter Properties, LLC participates in site selection, product design, as well as all direct responsibilities for sales and marketing of the properties. At this time, the firm has sold and under development ten properties totaling over 1,000 units with sales in excess of $660,000,000. The firm also has four new properties in the planning phase that will be introduced in 2006.
